THE KIND OF GIFTS THAT GET PEOPLE EMOTIONAL (Part 1)

Dear Brothers/Boo’s/Friends hoping to be Boo’s AND Ladies likewise, It’s that time of the year again. Not the one where you decide to go for summer or sleep in all day, but the one where you give gifts.

Have you have ever seen any celebrity or friend put up a video of them unwrapping a gift that has been finely packaged and delivered to them by someone; a brand, a significant other, their family, friend, colleague, or friend intending to leave the friend zone? Did you notice the attention to detail in wrapping the gift? Did you see how cute the butterfly design
on the handwritten note was? Did you hear the cheerful glee in the recipient’s voice almost as
though they had just been given the whole world? It is that time of the year and this time we want you to be the one making these long lasting impressions on us. How? You ask.

Well;
1. WHAT DOES THE PERSON LIKE?
In Nigeria, we see that only a few people pay attention to what the other person likes. When you want to get anything for someone, there is a silent law that states; it must be SOMETHING THE PERSON LIKES. It is true that some people are indifferent and therefore make it hard to decipher what they actually want but if it is someone you truly care about, you will go all the way.

2. HOW DOES THE PERSON LIKE IT?
This one is more towards the guys than the ladies since you are the ones saddled with this
responsibility 90% of the time. It is important to always take note of everything a lady is saying and not saying. When it is close to birthday, valentine or any other time of year that involves celebrations and giving gifts, some people stop talking about what they like or don’t like, the kind of surprise or party they want. Except, you are like me, reverse is the case, I like to spell everything out to the last detail. But for someone who is reserved, you need to understand how the person likes to be surprised, where and when.

3. ATTENTION TO DETAIL
This is as important as the gift itself. Obviously, every gift item comes from a store, a supermarket, a gift shop, an artisans shop, a boutique or a flower shop. Even the one that is ordered online is picked from a shop.

Quick question (s)

Why don’t you go and hand it to the person like that? Why take time to wrap it or write little clue notes and place in various memorial places till they find the gift? Why send someone neutral to deliver it when you could have gone by yourself? All these are some of the little minions that make the grand poodle before the “Awwwwws” start to roll in.

Hope you enjoyed this post and you learnt a few lessons? We will continue in the next post to wrap things up and save you some mood tantrums in 2 weeks or less.
